"Requested a very straightforward schedule of condition albeit at short notice. Was accommodated on timescale but wasn't advised I'd be paying almost 60%(!) extra per it being a short notice call out, to which I certainly would not have agreed. To add injury to insult, 4 hours of a trainees time(also I spoke at length with the trainee who was a lovely chap but seemed to be there in an observational role rather than active work) was added on to my bill also at the same "emergency" rate of £150 per hour (standard is £95 for a fully qualified surveyor) when questioned this cost was reluctantly removed but I'm still being charged 12 hours on a rate of £150 per hour. (£2400 plus VAT dropped to £1800 plus VAT) Note this is on a 6000 sq ft warehouse and roof access was provided at zero cost by my landlord. May be a rookie error on my part that a fee wasn't arranged but this is still far above what it would have or should have cost. I'm a startup business and this can only be described as a scalping dressed up as a favour. When questioned, the "emergency" rate remains the same, massively unscrupulous. Be very very careful when engaging."
