"First class. We listed our main door basement property at 88 Dundas St Edinburgh for sale after 23 years of renting it. The homebuyer report suggested a damp reading. The first surveyor supplied a vague drawing showing random crosses, implying damp in the hall and lounge. We believe that it lost us a good offer. Not very professional. We did our homework and several industry professionals recommended Valentines. They were spot on. Stuart arrived on time, invited us to witness the survey and explained how it worked. His first impression was how dry the flat was and the meter supported this with readings consistantly above tolerable levels. He noted salt residue at the corner wall near the window and guessed the issue before the meter confirmed it. Moisture was wicking from the spandrel stone step outside. Stuart had to replace 1200mm of plaster from the skirting up and used a wall membrane system for waterproofing, with a 30 year guarantee. He wrote a detailed report before we commissioned him, it was a 2 day job and the price was half the other companies vague quote. I was so relieved and happy that this was not a serious issue. A date was given and the job was done as stated and on time. I would recommend Valentines to anyone, though I think that their reputation keeps them busy with happy customers. We can now list with confidence having attended to the homebuyer report concerns, and my faith and trust in quality workmanship is restored."
